Usually, a manager’s press conference before a Saturday kick-off is on a Thursday, but Neil Harris decided to keep the media waiting for one reason or another as he spoke in front of journalists on Friday ahead of Leeds’ game against Cardiff.
Of course, you had your usual mundane updates as Neil Harris said that his team needed to be at his best against Leeds and played a few mind games by saying his team have lower expectations heading into this one.
As with any press conference, team news was a big talking point, and fortunately for Leeds, the manager hinted that Cardiff may be without two of their most important players this weekend.
Indeed, the former Millwall manager said that both Junior Hoilett and Gary Madine could be unavailable for Saturday’s trip to Elland Road.
United supporters had a tough time believing this though as they believe that it’s a case of mind games being played against Leeds.
Perhaps it’s due to the fact that Marcelo Bielsa has been prone to telling fibs in his press conferences as of late why certain sections of the fanbase are sceptical about Harris’ injury claims.
Fortunately, the Argentine knows pretty much every trick in the book when it comes to management, so some supporters weren’t so bothered about Harris potentially pulling a fast one on the manager as they believe the 64-year-old won’t be fooled by this game.
Meanwhile, Leeds may have reason to worry due to one Championship trend.
