da bet7: The American trio have helped their club dominate in the Netherlands, but all three might have decisions to make this summer
da betobet: PSV are champions of the Eredivisie. They didn't just win the Dutch league, though – they ran away with the damn thing. From start to finish, the title always felt bound for Eindhoven, but now it's official: for the first time in six years and the 25th time overall, the title is theirs.
For American soccer fans, that'll be particularly sweet. PSV turned themselves into the United States' official Eredivisie team this summer by signing three U.S. men's national team stars. Sergino Dest, Ricardo Pepi and Malik Tillman are all champions now. Ultimately, it all paid off.
That's worth celebrating, and there will be plenty of parties and parades to come. It's one of the benefits of winning a title early: you get a nice little victory lap to close off a campaign.
After that, though, Dest, Pepi and Tillman will all stare down uncertain futures, as there's a very real chance that the trio will split up in the coming months. There's still so much to be decided, even if the title already has been. PSV have a trophy in hand, but for the club's three American stars, a busy summer is appearing quickly.

Through the first 26 games of the Eredivisie season, PSV were unbeatable – literally. They were running rampant, blasting past everyone in their path. Defending champions Feyenoord tried their best to keep up, but there was no way they were ever going to make up ground on this PSV team.
So, when PSV's first league loss of the campaign eventually came against NEC Nijmegen at the end of March, the title wasn't in danger. PSV had lost their shot at invincibility, but this team will still go down as one of the best the Eredivisie has seen in recent years.
They beat closest rivals Feyenoord in December to solidify their title credentials, and then held them off in a 2-2 draw in March to effectively end any hopes of a comeback in Rotterdam. And what about the almighty Ajax? It has been an embarrassing season in Amsterdam, and it began early with a 5-2 thrashing at the hands of PSV in October. Even after suffering their first loss of the season, PSV came out firing, scoring 13 goals over the next three games in a run that included a 4-1 win over AZ Alkmaar and a 6-0 thrashing of Vitesse.
That paved the way for a now-famous 8-0 triumph at Heerenveen, which put PSV on the precipice of sealing the title with just three games to play. On Sunday, they wrapped it all up with a 4-2 trouncing of Sparta Rotterdam, earning the celebration that ensued, headlined by former USMNT star and current PSV director of football, Earnie Stewart, dancing the night away. It is not just on the domestic front that the club has impressed, though.

Just to get into the Champions League group stage, PSV had plenty of work to do. First they had to beat Austrian side Sturm Graz, which they managed with a lopsided 7-1 aggregate win in the second qualifying round. Then came Rangers, whom PSV had lost to in qualifying in 2022-23, but they, too, were swept away 7-3 to earn the Dutch side dates with Arsenal, Sevilla and Lens in the groups.
It was a tough group, for sure, but not an impossible one, and PSV proved that by escaping from it thanks to several memorable results.
Pepi's last-gasp winner against Sevilla was one, perhaps the finest moment of his young career. Tillman bamboozling legendary defender Sergio Ramos was fun, too. In the end, PSV's run ended in the last 16 with a loss to Borussia Dortmund, but the Dutch side certainly put on a good showing.
It was their deepest Champions League run in nearly a decade and was only the third time since 2006 that they reached the knockout stage. And it was, at least partly, thanks to several big contributions from their USMNT stars.
GettyDest's sour ending
Of the three Americans in the PSV team, you can easily argue that Dest was the most consistent. He was everpresent in this team, helping reignite his career after frustrating campaigns with Barcelona and AC Milan over the last few years.
However, it all ended on a sour note, to say the least. Dest's season is already over, and how much he plays next season is already in doubt, too. An ACL injury suffered in training last week will keep him out until 2025, which is a huge blow for the defender after a perfect bounce-back campaign. Surgery couldn't keep him away from the celebrations, but it was a nightmare ending for Dest.
In total, Dest played 37 matches for PSV in all competitions, featuring primarily as Peter Bosz's left-sided fullback. He made the role his own throughout the season despite primarily playing on the right for the USMNT.
Now, though, Gregg Berhalter has been left scrambling for the Copa America. Dest's injury has robbed the coach of a starter, one that is a key part of how they play. The defender looked to be heading into the summer on a high with his club career rebuilt; now, he'll have to wait at least a few months to get back onto the field and prove himself once again.
GettyTillman's breakout
Tillman, like Dest, arrived at PSV on loan this past summer. After several years in the Bayern Munich academy, he broke out at Rangers last season, scoring 12 goals in all competitions for the Scottish giants. A move to PSV was a slight step up the ladder, then; a chance to prove himself in a different environment.
The 21-year-old midfielder has certainly done so. It hasn't been the perfect season, but it has been a very good one, for sure. In total, Tillman has scored nine goals, all in the league, including two in the win over Heerenveen that all-but clinched the title. He also provided a big assist in the Champions League while drawing two crucial penalties, with his successes with PSV having seen him rocket up the USMNT depth chart, although he remains behind Gio Reyna in that No.10 spot as things stand.
Overall, it's been a crucial season of development for Tillman, who has been challenged at a higher level than ever before. He now has two Champions League knockout starts on his resume before his 22nd birthday, and this move to PSV was certainly a good one to help him move forward in his career.
